Although cheerily referred to as “hustle and bustle” in holiday tunes, Christmas preparations actually involve a lot of stress and strain. This is especially true for normally-sedentary types who suddenly start rushing around like crazy for 18 hours every day. Of course, you must afford yourself more than just an occasional break from shopping, as other demanding tasks, such as cooking and decorating, can also adversely affect your lower extremities. In fact, it’s best to avoid standing continuously for more than one hour at a time, or more than four, maximum, during the course of a day.
Heck, even something as fun and diverting as caroling can be quite taxing. So, while you’re belting out your favorite songs, don’t forget to provide a little comfort and joy to your legs.
